We want your cats and dogs to shine on our website so we can find them new homes even faster. To do this, we need your help.

The minimum size for all photos is 1000 pixels width x 750 pixels height. If you send us the original, unedited photos you took with your mobile phone or camera they are most likely more than OK. We need the photos to be at least this size to make sure the photos on profile pages are sharp. Please do not enlarge photos that do not fit the minimum size: enlarging a smaller photo will make it blurry.

We need at least five or six landscape (horizontal) photos with some space around the cat or dog. Take your pictures in landscape (horizontal) format by turning your phone a quarter. Here are some examples of photos that work very well:

Please make sure that:

• The cat/dog is clearly visible (not hidden under furniture or covered by human arms and hands in every photo)
• There’s some space around the cat/dog
• The cat/dog looks good, content and happy
• The background is not too distracting
• The photo is sharp, not blurry
• For duo’s: a few photo’s of the cats together emphasizes their attachment to each other

Tips:

• Take lots of photos and choose the very best
• Make sure there is enough light when taking photos indoors
• Take photos in different settings and positions for some variation and a good view of the animal
• And think: Is it how you want the cat/dog to be represented to possible adopters?

You can send a few portrait/vertical, square or close up photos too, just be aware that they will not be used as a featured photo. We can add them to the photo sliders on the profile pages.

A horizontally shot video shows the video in full screen on any screen type. Looks a lot better, right?
